Marchand Gallery

Business description
Marchand Gallery is a local art bureau specializing in Russian visual art from the second half of the 20th to the 21st century. The gallery explores artifacts and materials related to teaching methods in Moscow's unofficial art studios.

Challenge and objectives
The project's goal was to expand the gallery's web presence by introducing unique directions in Russian art to an international audience and sharing the gallery's expertise with global readers. We needed to implement blog functionality with convenient article uploading to CMS. The main challenge was creating a captivating and interactive website with a restrained aesthetic. It was essential to convey the atmosphere of the artists and their works while developing an intuitive interface for exploring the gallery's literary materials.

Concept and work process
The concept is based on combining modern technology with classical art. The main page features a work by sculptor Kirill Protopopov — the sculpture was scanned, digitized into a precise 3D model, and animated in Webflow using Spline. We implemented an "interactive magazine" concept with a unique header that adapts to content during scrolling and changes behavior depending on block types. We created an animation of "flying artist stories" and integrated video footage from studios to reveal their atmosphere. Technical implementation included Finsweet Attributes for CMS management, Swiper.js for navigation, and media server setup for content optimization.

Results
The client received a captivating, visually appealing website and a scalable platform for promoting Russian art abroad with a user-friendly interface for publishing new content. Currently, the site is actively being populated with content, which allows for rapidly improving search engine rankings and expanding international audience reach.
